NOTICE OF THE UPCOMING CONCERT BY MARKO PERKOVIĆ THOMPSON ON JULY 5 IN ZAGREB:
  • On Saturday, July 5th, the day of Thompson’s concert in Zagreb, there will be temporary traffic regulations in the city. Given the expected high turnover of tourists that weekend, as well as the large number of visitors coming to Zagreb for the concert, it is important to stay informed in advance and follow traffic updates on the Second Program of the Croatian Radio (HR2), as well as on the HAK (Croatian Automobile Club) website and mobile app.
  • On certain roads within the city of Zagreb, traffic will be restricted during the night of July 4th to 5th, 2025, due to temporary traffic signalization for the July 5th concert, which is expected to draw half a million visitors.
  • In the days leading up to the concert, and especially on the day of the concert (July 5th), due to the start of the tourist season and the increased influx of tourists into Croatia, dense vehicle and pedestrian traffic is expected in the city and on highways leading to Zagreb from all directions, particularly from the south.
  • If you are coming to the concert from outside Zagreb, we recommend arriving one or more days before the event. It is strongly advised to use public transportation, including trains or buses, due to the anticipated congestion on roadways caused by dense car traffic.
Events on the roads:
  • A cyclist has been spotted on the A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway, between the Zagreb zapad and Zaprešić junctions, direction Krapina.
  • There has been a traffic accident on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway, between the Sveta Nedjelja and Zagreb zapad junctions (at the 13km), direction Lipovac. Traffic is proceeding over one road lane with a driving speed limit of 60km/h.
  • There has been traffic accident on the Zagreb city bypass (A3 motorway), at the 26km, between the Lučko and Buzin junctions, direction Bregana. Traffic is proceeding over two road lanes with a driving speed limit of 80km/h.
  • Due to roadwork after the Učka tunnel, direction Rijeka, traffic is proceeding over one road lane alternately.


Traffic is dense on city roads and their bypasses, as well as where there is roadwork and temporary traffic signalization. We ask the drivers to adjust their driving to road conditions and to keep the safety distance.

Roadwork is underway on some sections of the motorways and other major roads. Drivers are kindly asked to respect temporary traffic regulation and the driving speed limits.
Due to roadwork, traffic on the following roads has been suspended:
  • The DC2 state road in Koprivnica, on the section between Zagrebačka street and Križevečka roads (Zagrebačka ulica and Križeveč cesta) (until 16 July)
  • The DC5 Grubišno Polje-Veliki Zdenci (until 11 August)
  • The DC20 Čakovec-Đelekovec state road between Cirkovljani and Draškovec (until 8 July)
  • The DC29 state road, between Zlatara and Zlatar Bistrice (until 1 October)
  • The DC46 between Đakovo and Vinkovci, in the town of Vođinci (until 18 September).
  • The DC51 state road Nova Gradiška-Požega near the town of Rešetari (until 19 July)
  • The DC200 state road in Višnjan (until 31 July)
  • The DC214 state road in Gudnja (roadwork on the bridge); on the Gunja-Brčko border crossing, there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles and busses (detour: Županja border crossing)
  • The DC512 state road Makarska-Ravča near the Stupica tunnel, direction Vrgorac (due to rocksliding)
  • The DC543 state road near Donja Zdenčina (until 8 July);
  • The DC546 Stojdraga-Krašić near the town of Petričko Selo (until 25 July).



Traffic restrictions:
The A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway
  • until 20 July between 9pm and midnight, traffic will be suspended for 15 minutes on the Zadar istok junction;
  • between 9 pm on 30 June and 7am on 1 July, traffic will proceed over one road lane only with a driving speed limit in the Brezik tunnel in the direction of Dubrovnik; between 9pm on 1 July and 7am on 2 July, traffic will proceed over one road lane only with a driving speed limit in the Brezik tunnel in the direction of Zagreb
The A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway
  • due to roadwork, the emergency lane between at the 33km, dircetion Macelj is closed.
  • until 30 June, due to roadwork on the Krapina Bridge in the direction of Macelj, traffic will flow in both directions on a single lane of the highway with a driving speed limit
A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:
  • Until 30 June due to roadwork on the Zagreb rest area (Plitvice), between the 16 and 17 km.traffic will be proceeding with temporary traffic signalization. The driving speed limit will be reduced to 60km/h.
  • until 11 July, between 9 pm and midnight, traffic will be temporarily suspended for 15 minutes on the Okučani junction;
  • Until 31 August, between the Lužani and Slavonski Brod zapad junctions, traffic will proceed over one road lane with a reduced driving speed limit.
  • until 13 September, the Kraljeva Velika Sjever rest area (direction Zagreb) is closed due to reconstruction.

A5 Beli Manastir-Osijek-Svilaj:

  • Until 30 June, between 10pm and 4am, traffic will be suspended for a maximum of 15 min, in the Sredanci junction area, direction Osijek, due to extraordinary cargo.
A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway:
  • until 30 June, due to roadwork between the 69 and 70+500 km in the direction of Rijeka, traffic is proceeding with a driving speed limit of 60 km/h.
A7 Rupa-Rijeka motorway:
  • due to a damaged expansion joint on the Kuk viaduct between km 41.900 and km 41.500 in the direction of Rupe, traffic is reduced to two lanes with a speed limit of 40 km/h.

Istria's motorways (A8/A9)
  • between the Učka tunnel and Matulji (Učka) junction there is a traffic ban on vehicles wider than 3 m and longer than 22 m, in both directions;
  • between the Učka tunnel and Učka junction traffic is flowing alternatly, in one lane only;

DC1 state road:

  • roadwork is in progress between Sinj and Dicmo in both directions;
  • roadwork is in progress at Brnaze, from direction Sinj towards Split there is a traffic ban on vehicles longer than 7 m;
  • due to roadwork on the Sučević viaduct of the DC1 state road, traffic is proceeding alternately over one road lane.
DC5 Grubišno Polje-Veliki Zdenci:
  • due to roadwork, traffic on the DC5 state road between Grubišno Polje and Veliki Zdenci has been suspended. Detour: Grubišno Polje–Velika Barna–Veliki Grđevac–Pavlovac–Veliki Zdenci and vice versa.

TRAFFIC BAN FOR FREIGHT VEHICLES:
There is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7.5t on the weekends, until 15 September, on major roads in Istria and the coastal area, excluding motorways and the DC1 state road. The ban will be in place on Saturdays from 4 AM until 2 PM and on Sundays from noon until 11 PM. (https://www.hak.hr/info/korisne-informacije/zabrane-za-teretna-vozila/).



ADDITIONAL ADVICE:
  • Due to the changing weather conditions, check the Croatian Automobile Club official website or mobile app regularly for all traffic information (the information is available in real time and it changes regularly). For weather conditions, check the webpage of the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service.
  • Every day, in traffic, there are many cyclists, moped drivers and bikers. Other vehicle drivers are advised to pay attention to these vehicles on the road when joining traffic, changing lanes, overtaking, passing, making a U-turn, or turning. We also remind cyclists, moped riders, and motorcyclists to adjust their driving to traffic regulations and speed limits.

Traffic is dense at some border crossings with Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.

The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.

At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).

Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.

Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.

Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.

The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.

The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

Due to roadwork delays should be expected on the following sections as passengers are transported by buses:
- between Križevci and Koprivnica railway stations on the rail state border-Botovo-Dugo Selo,
- between Koprivnica and Kloštar railway stations on the rail Varaždin-Dalj,
- between Novska and Sisak Caprag railway stations on the rail Zagreb-Sisak-Novska,
- between Banova Jaruga and Virovitica railway stations,
- between Ogulin and Moravice railway stations on the rail Zagreb-Rijeka,
- between Donji Kraljevec and Kotoriba railway stations on the rail Čakovec-Kotoriba-state border,

Summer restrictions on freight vehicles

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:

- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);
- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;
- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);
- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;
- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;
- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;
- DC200 Buje (DC21)-Plovanija border crossing;

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:
  • For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).
  • According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:

Dense traffic is expected on city roads and bypasses, especially in peak hours. Throughout the day, traffic may also be dense on some sections of the motorway, especially where roadwork is underway. 


Dense traffic is expected at some border crossings with Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

No difficulties are expected in ferry traffic.

  • Use the HAK app for real-time traffic updates.
  • Road condition info is available at 072/777-777, hourly on Croatian Radio 2, and many local radio stations.
  • For roadside assistance, call 1987 (HAK Roadside Assistance).
  • Be patient and calm, and expect heavier traffic and delays.
  • Reduce speed and increase following distance.
  • Use the right lane for driving, left lane for overtaking only.
  • Take regular breaks to rest.
  • Consider using less busy roads when possible.
  • Use the ENC (electronic toll collection) system to avoid delays at toll booths.
