A traffic accident on the A1 motorway between the Benkovac and Vodice junctions in direction Dubrovnik - one lane is free only (driving speed limit of 40 km/h)!
A broken-down freight vehicle on the A3 Zagreb bypass road between the Lučko and Zagreb zapad junctions in direction Bregana (60 km/h)!

Roads are partly wet and slippery. Rock sliding is possible in mountain areas and on the DC8 Adriatic road.

Due to strong wind on the section of the DC8 Adriatic road Novi Vinodolski-Senj there is a traffic ban on: doubledeckers, trailers and motorcycles, from Karlobag to Sveta Marija Magdalena on the delivery vans and vehicles with covered cargo area too.

Traffic is dense in cities and on their bypass roads.
During the day difficulties may occur in roadwork areas.

Drivers are invited to adjust the way of driving and the speed to road conditions and to keep distance!

Traffic restrictions:
A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway:


A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway:
  • 5th-8th km one lane is free only in each direction until 6 June;
A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:
  • until 9 May roadwork is in progress at the Lučko junction from direction Zagreb (Jadranska avenija) towards the Zagreb zapad junction as well as from direction Bregana towards Zagreb-jug junction/Lipovac;
  • until 1 June one lane is free only at the Zagreb zapad (Jankomir) junction from direction Lipovac (A3) towards Zagreb, from direction Bregana (A3) and Macelj (A2) in direction Zagreb (most Sava-Jankomir);
  • until 19 May at the Stari Grabovac sjever and Stari Grabovac jug rest areas the parking surfaces remain closed;
  • until 6 June at the Lučko junction (Kalinovo viaduct) in direction Bregana trafic is flowing in reduced lanes;
  • until 1 June at the Kraljeva Velika jug (Lipovljani) rest area the parking surfaces are closed, until 10 June at the Kraljeva Velika sjever rest area;
A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway:
  • until 15 May at the Orehovica junction traffic is suspended in the exit lane from direction Zagreb towards Trsat (Rijeka centar) detour: Čavle junction-ŽC5205-DC3-Rijeka-Rijeka istok junction (A7)-DC404-Rijeka;
  • until 20 May traffic is suspended at the exit of Vrbovsko junction towards Zagreb, detour: Ravna Gora junction;
A7 Rupa-Rijeka-Žuta Lokva motorway:


A8/A9 motorway in Istria:
  • between the Učka tunnel and Matulji (Učka) junction there is a traffic ban on vehicles wider than 3 m and longer than 22 m in both directions;

DC1 state road:

  • until 31 May traffic is closed on the section Gračac-Knin at the Stara Straža viaduct, detour for passenger traffic/vehicles up to 7,5 tonnes: Žagrović;
DC8 Adriatic road:


DC62 Ravča-Vrgorac state road:
  • until 16 May traffic is closed;
DC512 Makarska-Ravča state road:
  • due to rock sliding traffic is suspended on the at the Stupica tunnel towards Vrgorac.

Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.

The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.

At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).

Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.

Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.

Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.

The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.

The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

Summer restrictions on freight vehicles

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:

- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);
- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;
- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);
- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;
- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;
- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;
- DC200 Buje (DC21)-Plovanija border crossing;
- DC300 Buje (DC21)-Umag;
- Ž5002 Novigrad-Tar-Poreč-Vrsar (DC21);

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:
  • For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).
  • According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:

Traffic forecast for 10 May 2025

Fog is possible in Gorski kotar mountain area. Throughout the country there can be wet and slippery roads in the afternoon. Attention to a great amount of water on some sections! Rock sliding is possible in mountain areas and on the DC8 Adriatic road.

Traffic will be dense in cities and on their bypass roads as well as on some motorway sections.
Difficulties may also occur in roadwork areas.

In freight traffic there can be delays at most border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, especially at: Bajakovo, Tovarnik, Slavonski Brod, Županja and Stara Gradiška.
In ferry traffic there should be no difficulties.
