Traffic flow and road conditions

There has been a traffic accident on the A4 Goričan-Zagreb motorway at the Popovec junction. Traffic is proceeding slowly in both directions.

An object has been spotted on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway, between the Slavonski Brod istok and the Slavonski Brod zapad junctions, direction of Bregana ( at the 213 km).

On most major roads, traffic is flowing without any difficulties. Traffic may proceed more slowly on sections where roadwork is underway. We ask the drivers to adjust their driving to road conditions.

Due to roadwork, traffic on the following roads has been suspended:

The DC1 state road in Knin, at the Stara Straža viaduct (until 20 June)
The DC2 state road in Koprivnica, on the section between Zagrebačka street and Križevečka roads (Zagrebačka ulica and Križeveč cesta) (until 16 July)
The DC5 Grubišno Polje-Veliki Zdenci (11 August)
The DC20 Čakovec-Đelekovec state road between Cirkovljani and Draškovec (until June)
The DC29 state road, between Zlatara and Zlatar Bistrice (until 1 October)
The DC51 state road Nova Gradiška-Požega near the town of Rešetari (until 19 July)
The DC200 state road in Višnjan (until 31 July)
The DC214 state road in Gudnja (roadwork on the bridge)
The DC512 state road Makarska-Ravča near the Stupica tunnel, direction Vrgorac (due to rocksliding)
The DC543 state road near Donja Zdenčina (until 8 July);
The DC546 Stojdraga-Krašić near the town of Petričko Selo (until 25 July).

Traffic restrictions:

A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway:

until 13 June at the Sveta Tri Kralja tunnel at 13th km towards Zagreb one lane is free only;
until 26 June at the Krapina bridge 30th-33rd km in direction Macelj traffic is proceeding in reduced lanes;
until 30 June 5th-8th km in direction Trakošćan traffic is flowing in one lane only,

A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:

until 13 June at the Kalinovo viaduct at the Lučko junction in direction Bregana traffic is proceeding in reduced lanes (80 km/h);
until 30 June at the Zagreb (Plitvice) rest area 16th-17th km in direction Bregana traffic is flowing in reduced lanes, in direction Lipovac one lane is free only;
until 17 June at the Sava jug rest area in direction Lipovac the parking areas are closed;
until 14 June at 7 p.m., due to roadwork, traffic will proceed over one lane only (63-64 km in the direction of Lipovac) with a speed limit of 80 km/h.

ROADWORK ANNOUNCEMENT:
• On 14 June, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., roadwork will be underway on the Sava bridge of the Zagreb bypass road (A3), in the direction of Bregana. Traffic may proceed slowly with occasional jams.
• From 16 June until 14 September, the Kraljeva Velika sjever rest area (towards Zagreb) will be closed due to reconstruction.
• From 16 June until 18 June, the Sava jug rest area between the Velika Kopanica and the Babina Greda junctions (towards Lipovac) will be closed due to reconstruction.

A4 Zagreb-Goričan motorway:

until 15 June one lane is free only between the Popovec and Zagreb istok junctions 96th-97th km in direction Zagreb (80 km/h);

A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway:

A8/A9 motorway in Istria:

between the Učka tunnel and Matulji (Učka) junction there is a traffic ban on vehicles wider than 3 m and longer than 22 m in both directions;
between the Učka tunnel and Učka junction traffic is flowing alternatly, in one lane only;

DC1 state road:

until 20 June traffic is closed on the section Gračac-Knin at the Stara Straža viaduct, detour for passenger traffic/vehicles up to 7,5 tonnes: Žagrović;
until 15 June roadwork is in progress at Brnaze, from direction Sinj towards Split there is a traffic ban on vehicles longer than 7 m;
roadwork is in progress between Sinj and Dicmo in both directions;
13 June 10pm-5am traffic is suspended on the DC1 Solin-Klis highway, detour: ŽC6253 regional road;

DC3 Karlovac-Duga Resa state road:

until 14 June at 3pm at Gornje Mrzlo Polje one lane is free only;

DC8 Adriatic road:

until 16 September at the Mandalina junction one lane is free only;
on the section Split-Visoka traffic is proceeding in one lane only;
10pm-6am traffic is closed between the Prapratno and Zaton Doli junctions, detour: Ston;

DC62 Ravča-Vrgorac state road:

traffic is closed until further notice;

DC200 state road:

until 31 July traffic is suspended at Višnjan, detour: through Baderna and Poreč;

DC512 Makarska-Ravča state road:

due to rock sliding traffic is suspended at the Stupica tunnel towards Vrgorac.

Border crossings

Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.

The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.

At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).

Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.

Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.

Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.

The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.

The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

Railway traffic, 13 June 2025

Due to roadwork delays should be expected on the following sections as passengers are transported by buses:

- between Križevci and Koprivnica railway stations on the rail state border-Botovo-Dugo Selo,

- between Koprivnica and Kloštar railway stations on the rail Varaždin-Dalj,

- between Novska and Sisak Caprag railway stations on the rail Zagreb-Sisak-Novska,

- between Banova Jaruga and Virovitica railway stations,

- between Ogulin and Moravice railway stations on the rail Zagreb-Rijeka,

- between Donji Kraljevec and Kotoriba railway stations on the rail Čakovec-Kotoriba-state border,

- between Čakovec and Središče railway stations on the rail state border-Čakovec,

- between Sveti Ivan Žabno and Koprivnica railway stations,

Driving restrictions for heavy goods vehicles

Summer restrictions on freight vehicles

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:

- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);

- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;

- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);

- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;

- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;

- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;

- DC200 Buje (DC21)-Plovanija border crossing;

- DC300 Buje (DC21)-Umag;

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:

For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).

According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:

Traffic forecast for 15 June 2025

Weather conditions will be favorable for driving in most of the country.

Dense traffic, queues and traffic jams during the day are expected on the Zagreb city bypass (A3) towards the Lučko toll station, on A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići and A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorways towards the coast, on the A2 Zagreb-Macelj and A4 Goričan-Zagreb motorways in direction Zagreb, on the A7 Rupa-Rijeka motorway in both directions, in Istria on the A8/A9 highway between the Učka tunnel and Učka junction in both directions, at the Krk bridge and on the DC8 Adriatic road near tourist centers.

There is a traffic ban on all freight vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes on most major state roads along the coast (excluding the motorways and the DC1 state road) on Sunday from noon until 11p.m.

In passenger traffic there can be delays at the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, in freight traffic at Županja, Tovarnik and Bajakovo.

In ferry traffic there can be difficulties due to wind.
