Due to strong wind there are bans for certain category vehicles on the DC8 Adriatic road (details below).

DC501 Meja state road: due to broken-down signalization at a railway passage, traffic is proceeding slowly; drivers are advised to remain patient and to be cautious
DC8 Adriatic road: traffic is suspended near Lokva Rogoznica due to a fire

MOTORWAYS

A1 Zagreb-Split-Dubrovnik

EXTRAORDINARY TRANSPORT:

until Sep 5 between 10pm and 5am extraordinary transport will be proceeding from the Karamatići toll station (A1) towards the Bisko junction (A1)

A2 Zagreb-Macelj

traffic is proceeding over one lane only between the 17th and 13th km in direction Macelj (Krapina-Đurmanec) and between the 6th and 8th km in direction Zagreb (Trakošćan-Đurmanec)

A3 Bregana-Lipovac

until 31 Dec at the Zagreb zapad junction from direction Lipovac (A3) towards Zagreb, from direction Bregana (A3) and Macelj (A2) towards Zagreb (Sava bridge-Jankomir) traffic is flowing in one lane only;
until 31 Aug due to roadwork, the Kraljeva Velika sjever and Kraljeva Velika jug rest stops are closed in both directions
until September 1st due to roadwork between the Popovača and Kutina junctions in direction Lipovac (90th - 93rdkm), traffic is proceeding over two narrowed lanes; possible queues and delays with increased traffic density, especially on Fridays
until 3 October due to roadwork between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad junctions in direction Lipovac, traffic will be proceeding over two reduced lanes in both directions on the road in direction Bregana; due to increased density, queues and delays are possible, especially in the morning and the afternoon and on the weekends

EXTRAORDINARY TRANSPORT:

from Aug 13 at 11pm until Aug 14 at 5am due to extraordinary transport proceeding between Zagreb zapad and Okučani, traffic will be suspended once for 15 minutes
until 2 September traffic will be temporarily suspended 4 times from 10pm to 4am in the Županja junction area

A4 Goričan-Zagreb

until 30 Aug due to roadwork between the Zagreb istok and Popovec junctions, between the 95th and 91st km, towards Goričan traffic will proceed in both directions over two narrowed lanes in direction Zagreb and over one narrowed lane in direction Goričan. In direction Goričan, traffic will proceed over one lane with a reduced speed limit of 80km/h. All Zagreb istok and Sesvete junctions exit slips are operating.

A6 Rijeka-Zagreb

A7 Rupa-Rijeka

until 11 June 2027 traffic is flowing in reduced lanes at the Matulji-Opatija junction, A8 highway/DC8 state road intersection;

A8/A9 motorways in Istria

due to roadwork on the A8 motorway, there is temporary traffic regulation;
due to roadwork between the Učka tunnel and Matulji junction, there is temporary traffic regulation with occasional traffic suspensions;
between the Kanfanar and Medaki junctions at the Limska Draga viaduct there is a traffic ban on delivery of cargo wider than 3 m in both directions;

STATE ROADS

DC1 Macelj-Zagreb-Karlovac-Gračac-Knin-Sinj

due to roadwork near the Westgate shopping centre in Zaprešić, traffic is proceeding over one narrowed lane
until 30 Nov due to roadwork between Otrić and Zrmanja, there is a speed limit and temporary traffic regulation

.DC2 Osijek-Vukovar

until 17 December traffic is suspended due to roadwork between the DC2-ŽC4111 intersection and entrance in Vukovar city, traffic will proceed on the bypass road ( DC2 (Nemetin junction) - DC213 (Sarvaš - Bijelo Brdo) - DC519 (Dalj - Borovo) - DC2 (Vukovar))

DC8 Adriatic road

due to strong wind there is a traffic ban for double-decker buses, motorcycles and vehicles with trailers between Novi Vinodolski and Sveta Marija Magdalena
due to roadwork on some sections, traffic proceeding under temporary traffic signalisation
due to possible rockslides in Kaštel Kambelovac, traffic proceeding under temporary traffic signalisation

DC14 Zabok-Zlatar Bistrica

due to the poor condition of the road and the bridge at the Poznanovac junction, there is a traffic ban until 31 January 2027 between Poznanovec and Dubovec;

DC24 Možđenec (DC22) - Rakovec - Varaždinske Toplice (DC526/ŽC22)

until December 31st traffic ban for freight vehicles exceeding the maximum weight of 7,5 tonnes between Rakovec and Varaždinske Toplice. Detour: A4 Varaždinske toplice junction-Novi Marof junction and vice versa.

DC28 Cugovec – Zvijerci – Bjelovar – Veliki Zdenci

until 25 August due to roadwork between Bjelovar and Letičani, there is a traffic ban on all vehicles, detours on local and state roads.

DC547 Sveti Rok-Jasenice

traffic is suspended for all vehicles due to road damage

TRAFFIC BAN FOR FREIGHT VEHICLES

Until 15 September on Saturdays (4am - 2pm) and Sundays (noon - 11pm), there will be a summer traffic ban for all freight vehicles with a maximum total weight exceeding 7.5 t on some state roads in Istria and on the coast (except on motorways and the DC1 state road). Border crossings

Due to bridge damage traffic is suspended between the Stara Gradiška and Gradiška border crossings (Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina) in both directions.

The border crossing Gornji Varoš (HR) - Gradiška (BiH) is open from May 19th.

At the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro a new system of entering/exiting the country (so called Entry/Exit System - EES) is applied. It means that apart from having travel documents biometric passenger data will be collected (four fingerprints and face photo). The law does not refer to EU citizens.

Notifications about waiting time at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Access to cameras at border crossings is provided on the Croatian Automobile Club website.

Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.

The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.

At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).

Starting 3 July 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.

Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.

Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.

The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.

The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

Ferry traffic

Jadrolinija's Kraljevica-Crikvenica-Senj-Baška-Lopar-Rab-Lun catamaran line is suspended.

Changes in timetable:

on 14 August, there will be an additional journey for the ferry line Orebić-Dominče, the ferry will depart from Dominče for Orebić at 1:50am, and from Orebić for Dominče at 2:15am
on 15 August, the Dubrovnik-Koločep-Lopud-Suđurađ ferry will depart from Suđurađ at 6:30am and 5:30pm, and from Dubrovnik at 9:30am and 7:30pm
on 15 August, the ferry departing from Preko at 10:30am and Zadar/Gaženica at 12:30pm will additionally stop at the Ošljak island.
on 15 August, the 659 Split-Bol-Hvar-Vis catamaran line will depart from the Split port at 2:40pm (instead of 3:30pm), from the Bol port at 4pm (instead of 4:45pm), from the Hvar port at 5pm (instead of 5:45pm), and will arrive at the Vis port at 5:45pm (instead of 6:20pm) due to 26th Vis swimming marathon.
on 15 August, the 9602 (Krilo Eclipse) Vis-Milna-Hvar-Split catamaran line will be departing from Split at 4pm instead of 6 pm

Railway traffic

Railway traffic

1 July-31 August passengers of the 5801, 5800, 5803 and 5802 trains on the section Knin-Perković as well as those of 5809, 5806, 5801 and 5802 trains on the section Knin-Šibenik are transported by buses.

Between the Pleternica and Čaglin train stations from Monday until Friday buses are operating instead of the 6703 and 6702 train lines.

Between the Križevci and Sveti Ivan Žabno train station from Monday until Friday buses are operating.

Due to roadwork, delays should be expected on the following sections as passengers are transported by buses:

- between the Križevci and Gyekenyes railway stations on the rail state border-Botovo-Dugo selo,

- between the Buzet and Lupoglav railway stations on the rail state border-Buzet-Pula,

- between the Varaždin and Koprivnica railway stations on the rail Varaždin-Koprivnica,

- between the Kloštar and Koprivnica, Osijek and Bizovac railway stations on the rail Koprivnica-Dalj,

- between the Novska and Sisak Caprag railway stations,

- between the Banova Jaruga and Virovitica railway stations,

- between the Duga Resa, Karlovac and Bubnjarci railway stations.

Driving restrictions for heavy goods vehicles

Summer restrictions on freight vehicles

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:

- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);

- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;

- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);

- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;

- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;

- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;

- DC200 Buje (DC21)-Plovanija border crossing;

- DC300 Buje (DC21)-Umag;

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:

For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).

According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:

Traffic forecast for 14 August 2026

Traffic jams and delays are expected on most roads leading to the sea, especially on motorways and access roads to tourist centres on the DC8 Adriatic road, the DC1 Solin-Klis expressway, the Krk bridge and on certain state roads.

Tomorrow between 3pm and 11pm there will be a traffic ban for freight vehicles exceeding the maximum weight of 7,5 tonnes along the Adriatic coast.

Longer wait times are expected at the following border crossings: Gornji Varoš, Ličko Petrovo Selo, Svilaj, Bajakovo, Karasovići and Tovarnik.

In ferry traffic, no difficulties are expected.
