• until 30 June 5th-8th km in direction Trakošćan traffic is flowing in one lane only,

• until 30 June at the Zagreb (Plitvice) rest area 16th-17th km in direction Bregana traffic is flowing in reduced lanes, in direction Lipovac one lane is free only;
• until 18 June at the Sava jug rest area in direction Lipovac the parking areas are closed;
• until 13 September, the Kraljeva Velika Sjever rest area (direction Zagreb) is closed due to reconstruction.

• until 17 June, due to roadwork on the A4 Goričan-Zagreb motorway between the Popovec and the Sveta Helena junction in the direction of Goričan, traffic will be proceeding over one road lane only with a driving speed limit of 80 km/h.
• Due to road maintenance on the A4 Goričan-Zagreb motorway, between the 83km and the ČCP Sveta Helena passageway, direction Goričan, traffic is proceeding over one road lane with a driving speed limit of 80km/h. The maintenance is expected to last until 3pm.

• due to a damaged expansion joint on the Kuk viaduct between km 41.900 and km 41.500 in the direction of Rupe, traffic is reduced to two lanes with a speed limit of 40 km/h.

• between the Učka tunnel and Matulji (Učka) junction there is a traffic ban on vehicles wider than 3 m and longer than 22 m in both directions;
• between the Učka tunnel and Učka junction traffic is flowing alternatly, in one lane only;

Holiday Traffic Forecast

Corpus Christi is celebrated on Thursday, June 19, 2025. During the Wednesday afternoon, very heavy traffic is expected on most roads—especially in Zagreb on city roads and exits, as well as on the following routes:

• the A1 Zagreb – Ploče – Karamatići and A6 Rijeka – Zagreb motorways towards the coast

• the Zagreb bypass (A3) from the Zagreb zapad and Buzin junctions towards the Lučko toll station.

• A2 Zagreb-Macelj towards Zagreb, especially at the Trakošćan toll station and Krapina bridge

• A3 (Bregana – Lipovac) in both directions

• Rijeka bypass (A7) and the Učka Tunnel

• DC102 Krk Bridge.

• State road DC1 (Zagreb – Karlovac – Knin – Split and DC8 Adriatic Road.

• border crossings entering Croatia (from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia).

• former border crossings with Slovenia (Macelj, Kaštel, and Plovanija).

• ferry ports (towards the islands)

At most border crossings, especially with Bosnia and Herzegovina, increased inbound traffic is expected. Occasional delays, queues, and traffic jams may occur at toll stations: Lučko (A1) towards Karlovac, Zaprešić (A2), Zagreb istok (A3), and Sveta Helena (A4) towards Zagreb

Increased traffic and long waiting times are likely at many border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina—particularly at: Stara Gradiška, Maljevac, Jasenovac, Hrvatska Dubica, Hrvatska Kostajnica, Slavonski Brod and Županja (occasionally in both directions). Also at some borders with Serbia (Bajakovo) and Montenegro (Karasovići). Alternative border crossings like Tovarnik, Ilok I & II, Erdut, and Batina are recommended. Check real-time border conditions before your trip—you might arrive sooner via a slightly longer route with shorter border wait times.

During the extended weekend, heavy traffic is expected toward coastal tourist destinations, especially in Istria, Kvarner, and Dalmatia. Expect occasional delays in roadwork zones and areas with temporary traffic regulation. Ferry ports and piers to the islands will also experience increased vehicle inflow.

On Sunday, June 22, heavy return traffic is expected in the afternoon and evening toward inland regions, particularly on: the A1 Zagreb – Ploče – Karamatići motorway, A6 Rijeka – Zagreb motorway and the DC1 state road (especially between Karlovac and Zagreb).

Traffic jams and long queues are likely on A1 from Ogulin through Bosiljevo to Karlovac, as well as at Lučko and Demerje toll stations and motorway rest areas.

Before setting out, check traffic density and consider alternative return routes on secondary roads.

Since Corpus Christi is a Catholic holiday also celebrated in neighboring Catholic countries, additional inbound traffic from Hungary, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Slovenia is expected—both arriving and departing.
Truck Traffic Ban – Vehicles over 7.5 tons

For the Corpus Christi holiday, traffic bans for freight vehicles over 7.5 tons on certain roads in Istria and the coastal area (excluding motorways and DC1) will be in effect:

• Wednesday, June 18: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Thursday, Corpus Christi (June 19): 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Saturday, June 21: 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM
• Sunday, national holiday (June 22): 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM

• Be patient and calm, and expect heavier traffic and delays.
• Reduce speed and increase following distance.
• Use the right lane for driving, left lane for overtaking only.
• Take regular breaks to rest.
• Consider using less busy roads when possible.
• Use the ENC (electronic toll collection) system to avoid delays at toll booths.
