Traffic flow and road conditions

- traffic is dense between the Bosiljevo 2 and Lučko junctions in direction Zagreb - it is proceeding in queues;
- at Udbina and Tušilović traffic is flowing with delays due to roadwork.
During the day difficulties can occur in roadwork areas.
Drivers are invited to adjust the speed and the way of driving to the road conditions and to keep distance, especially near schools and kindergartens as the new school year has begun.
Due to roadwork, traffic on the following roads has been suspended:
- The DC5 Grubišno Polje-Veliki Zdenci (until 11 October)
- The DC29 state road, between Zlatara and Zlatar Bistrice (until 1 October)
- The DC38 Požega-Pleternica state road, between the towns of Kuzmica and Vesela (until 31 December)
- The DC46 between Đakovo and Vinkovci, in the town of Vođinci (until 18 September).
- The DC51 state road Nova Gradiška-Požega near the town of Rešetari (until 19 September)
- The DC200 state road in Višnjan (until 25 September)
- The DC214 state road in Gudnja (roadwork on the bridge); on the Gunja-Brčko border crossing, there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles and busses (detour: Županja border crossing)
- The DC512 state road Makarska-Ravča near the Stupica tunnel, direction Vrgorac (due to rocksliding)
- The DC546 Stojdraga-Krašić near the town of Petričko Selo (until 15 March 2026)
- The LC50013 Kremenje-Oskoruš local road in Istria (due to rocksliding).
- 16 September-29 October at the Lučko junction one lane is free only in direction Lipovac;
- 17 September-15 November at the Babića most on the section Žuta Lokva-Otočac one lane is free only in each direction;
- until 14 November, the right lane between the 1+800 and 2+600km towards Zagreb will be closed for all traffic, due to roadwork;
- 15-24 September traffic is suspended at the exit of the Zabok junction in direction Macelj;
- 25 September-2 October traffic is suspended at the entrance of the Zabok junction in direction Macelj;
- 25 September-24 October traffic is suspended at the entrance of the Začretje junction in direction Zagreb;
- 25 September-24 October traffic is suspended at the exit of the Začretje junction in direction Zagreb;
- until 20 September, the Kraljeva Velika Sjever rest area (direction Zagreb) is closed due to reconstruction;
- 15 September-30 October between the Nova Gradiška and Slavonski Brod zapad junctions one lane is free only in both directions;
- at the Stari Grabovac sjever and Stari Grabovac jug rest areas the parking areas are still closed until 30 October;
- 15 September-27 November between the Lužani and Slavonski Brod zapad junctions one lane is free only in both directions;
- 16 September 10.30pm-7am at the Sv. Helena paytoll traffic is closed twice for about 15 minutes in both directions;
- 17 September midnight-7am at the Sv. Helena paytoll traffic is closed twice for about 15 minutes in both directions;
- until 31 October at 60th km in direction Rijeka the driving speed has to be reduced to 80 km/h due to rock sliding;
- 16-19 September 11.30pm-4.30am traffic is suspended twice for about 15 minutes at 67th km, at the Rijeka paytoll, at the Oštrovica paytoll as well as between the Rijeka and Kikovica paytolls (DC3 entrance/exit) due to abnormal load;
- between the Učka tunnel and Matulji (Učka) junction there is a traffic ban on vehicles wider than 3 m and longer than 22 m, in both directions;
- due to roadwork between the Učka tunnel and the Matulji junction, temporary traffic regulation has been put into place and traffic might occasionally be suspended. Detour options for personal vehicles: DC500 Vranja state road – Šušnjevica – Vozilići i ŽC5047 Vranja county road – Veprinac – Matulji
DC1 state road:
- roadwork is in progress at Brnaze, from direction Sinj towards Split there is a traffic ban on vehicles longer than 7 m
- due to roadwork, traffic is proceeding with temporary traffic regulation on the Udbina bypass
- Due to the changing weather conditions, check the Croatian Automobile Club official website or mobile app regularly for all traffic information (the information is available in real time and it changes regularly). For weather conditions, check the webpage of the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service.
- Every day, in traffic, there are many cyclists, moped drivers and bikers. Other vehicle drivers are advised to pay attention to these vehicles on the road when joining traffic, changing lanes, overtaking, passing, making a U-turn, or turning. We also remind cyclists, moped riders, and motorcyclists to adjust their driving to traffic regulations and speed limits.
